Instrumentation and Telemetry (IoT) EngineerPosition Overview: Pacific Technologies (PT) is seeking a hands-on and experienced Field Engineer - Instrumentation and Telemetry Engineer to join our dynamic team.
This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in telemetry instrumentation, IoT solutions, and smart metering, who are looking to further their careers in the water and wastewater sectors.
The position involves a balanced mix of office-based work and fieldwork, with approximately 50% of the time spent out in the field conducting installations, testing, and commissioning.Key Responsibilities:Perform the installation, commissioning, calibration, and troubleshooting of RTUs, IoT devices, flow measurement systems, and telemetry equipment for water and wastewater infrastructure.Support system integrations into SCADA platforms, ensuring seamless operation and optimization.Conduct site surveys and feasibility assessments for new and existing projects.Provide technical support and training to clients, contractors, and stakeholders on advanced instrumentation and telemetry products, including Metasphere and Pulsar systems.Collaborate with the project team to deliver innovative solutions for sewer blockage detection, water quality monitoring, and leakage detection.Document field activities and create detailed technical reports, including performance analysis and project progress updates.Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during all fieldwork and project deployments.Health and Safety Requirements:Adhere to and enforce company health and safety policies and procedures.Conduct and participate in risk assessments for all field activities.Ensure the safe use and maintenance of equipment and tools in the field.Immediately report any safety incidents, near-misses, or hazards and assist in their resolution.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.3–5 years of experience in telemetry systems, IoT devices, or wastewater instrumentation.Practical experience with flow, pressure and level instrumentations with brands such as Metasphere, Pulsar, Siemens, ABB or HACH.Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO 14001: 2015 (Environmental Management Systems) would be an advantage.Proficiency in troubleshooting and calibrating telemetry and instrumentation systems.Preferred Skills:Knowledge of SCADA systems, AMR/AMI technologies, and flowmeters (open-channel or electromagnetic).Strong communication and customer service skills for technical support and training.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across office and field environments.Excellent technical writing skills for preparing clear and concise reports.Why Join Us?
