The Role We have a vacancy for a Whanau Ora Navigator (Kaiarahi) to join our team.
Our Whanau Ora Kaiarahi provide support to whanau through working with them to create and then implement plans that positively impact on family growth, development, and wellbeing.
Plans must be whanau-centred, and can include anything from educational goals to social, health, cultural, or economic goals, but plans must also reflect the desires of the whanau so that whanau are self-directed and empowered as they achieve their plans.
You will also be supporting whanau to integrate social and health services, improving their own outcomes, moving towards optimal independence, and greater enjoyment of life.
You will need to be able to demonstrate you have experience with coaching and mentoring and have established networks within the South Waikato region so that you can confidently utilise service providers to fully benefit whanau.
Building relationships is a key skill that is a requirement in this role as you will be interacting with a wide range of people, from service providers to tutors, employers, whanau and iwi.
Other skills and abilities required for this role includes the ability to support and assess the needs of whanau, the ability to write aspirational plans, and then carry out regular evaluations and reviews of those plans.
