We're committed to equity in health and social outcomes, using culturally grounded, innovative approaches to serve whanau, especially those underserved by conventional services.Te Turanga (The Role): As a clinical Pou Oranga, you will play a vital role in supporting whanau through their healing journey.
Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team, you'll engage in individual and group wananga with whanau ensuring a cultural response with your clinical lens and expertise addressing the hauora needs of whanau.Clinicians in this role support the cultural practices of this service as a prioritisation of maatauranga maaori whilst being able to provide evidence informed assessment and treatments including therapeutic interventions, such as talking therapies/psychotherapy, behavioural therapy techniques, supportive psychotherapy and implement techniques in cognitive therapy for whanau presenting in distress.This kaupapa is culturally led and clinically supported.
Each day brings new challenges and new opportunities to make a difference.You will work closely with whanau to develop individualised wellness plans, reconnecting whakapapa and reintroducing tupuna practices for wellness.
Whether you're leading therapeutic wananga or guiding whanau to apply toi maori practices for health, you will be at the heart of empowering whanau to take control of their well-being.Ko wai au?
(About You): We're looking for a Clinical Pou Oranga who has a good connection to their iwi and can confidently support and uphold tikanga processes.
Basic conversational competency in te reo maori me ona tikanga is essential, as is experience in the health or social services sectors and delivering best practice approaches.
Your ability to build relationships and connect with whanau maori and diverse communities will be key to your success.To hold this role, you must meet one of the following registration criteria:Fully registered under the Health Practitioner Competence Assurance (HPCA) Act 2003 (e.g., nurse, psychologist, psychotherapist, occupational therapist)Fully registered alcohol, drug, and/or gambling practitioner with dapaanzFully registered Social Worker or a full member of NZAC with Te Whatu Ora accreditation for mental health and addiction services.Desired Experience:Minimum of 5 years post-recovery and/or 3 years working in a social services/health settingProven ability to maintain a whanau-centric, culturally responsive approach to careExperience keeping detailed, confidential clinical recordsAbility to provide comprehensive assessment of tangata whaiora and whanau needs including comprehensive risk assessmentAbility to identify tangata with serious mental health or addictions concerns that may require referral onto a specialist mainstream mental health or addiction service including crisis services.Confidence in relating to diverse communities, particularly whanau maoriStrong critical thinking and cultural awarenessIf you're ready to join a kaupapa where you can make a real difference through a blend of cultural and clinical fusion, we'd love to hear from you.Apply now for a confidential chat and become part of our dedicated team
