We are at the cutting edge of biotech, developing sustained release products to eliminate methane production in ruminants. This is a challenging design problem, involving the intersection of both materials science and chemistry. Early prototypes show 90+% methane reduction. The role is to drive RBT formulation technology workstreams as our prototypes progress towards commercialization.The RoleThe core responsibility of this role is to lead and execute formulation development workstreams targeting several innovative prototype and packaging concepts. You will be developing advanced sustained release products by integrating innovation in materials and formulation science. A fundamental understanding of chemistry, material properties, and diffusion processes, as well as the ability to communicate related concepts effectively, are key.This is a hands-on role in an engaged and experienced laboratory team. You will be working alongside formulation and analytical experts as well as a dedicated team of laboratory technicians. Further interfaces include our clinical field study team, IP and regulatory affairs managers, as well as our CMO / CRO space. You will report to the Head of Formulation Technology.This role is suited for candidates on the scientist, senior scientist, or principal scientist level, preferably with a background in the pharmaceutical or agricultural space. With the right mixture of scientific capability, out-of-the-box thinking, and pragmatism, this is a unique opportunity to crucially impact the RBT product and the future of global methane mitigation.Essential QualificationsStrong background in formulation technology and materials scienceExperience with sustained release formulations/devicesStrong communicator, e.g., with respect to conveying scientific concepts to general audiencesA goal-oriented approach balancing structure, flexibility, and pragmatismDesirable QualificationsExperience in modelling of material properties and/or diffusion processesPrevious experience in product development and/or commercialization, for example in the pharmaceutical or agricultural spaceExperience in leading/coaching junior scientists and laboratory staffJoin a highly innovative company with exciting technology and huge potential to solve a critical global challenge.
