**About the Role | Mō te Tūranga
Working as part of our WiqNZ business and as a key leader within the A&I team, this role will drive scaleable value from advanced analytics use cases as well as to grow and mature our data science and machine learning ops capability and provide technical leadership to a broad data science community.

Support the establishment and embedding disciplines, practices and patterns that continuously improve data science ways of working / standards. A key part of this role is to balance what we build internally, what we buy, and what we borrow from the Group.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

- Provide technical thought leadership in advanced analytics, data science and ML Ops.
- Technical mentoring for less experienced data scientists.
- Provide quality assurance and peer review for data science initiatives.
- Adhere to data principles and establish standards for model development.
- Make good use of analytics productivity tools to enable a wider pool of analytics professionals to be effective.
- Support the development of data science capabilities roadmap.
- Providing input into the design of model factories, feature libraries and model management capabilities to enable continuous model deployment.
- Design, develop, implement and maintain scalable analytical models.
- Work with business and process teams to strive for higher quality data and strategic view of data as an asset.
- Contribute to analytics problem solving and insight generation.
- Bridge the gap between Data Science, analytics and data engineering.

**About You | Mōu
As a Senior Data Scientist, your role is to work alongside a team of talented architects, data engineers, data scientists and senior analytics professionals to understand business challenges, design and implement data products and solutions for both operational and analytical purposes.

A key component of the role is optimising the usage of our data architecture as well as building scalable, reliable analytical models that can service both batch and realtime use cases.

As a senior member of the Data Science Chapter, you will also contribute to the development of data science patterns and processes and will bring in demonstrable experience across the following;
- Agile delivery leadership including technical mentoring and peer review.
- Advanced analytics skills and python programming experience.
- Leading data science initiatives and developing, deploying and managing machine learning models at scale.
- Working alongside external partners and in cross functional teams and clearly define desired business outcomes and communicate results.
- Strong Agile maturity - understanding the principles.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence and Project Management tools.
- Ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes ambiguous work environment.
