Our Client

Our client is a purpose-driven and values-led business investing in people, clients, communities, and the environment. Based in the CBD, this financial services business is hiring a Technical Delivery Director; this is a newly created position reporting into the Chief Digital Officer.

The Role

The Delivery Director is responsible for leading the successful delivery of the business's new technology platform and re-imagined products, ensuring projects meet time, budget, scope, and risk objectives while driving efficient outcomes. This role ensures that strategic goals, product requirements, business needs, and technology capabilities are delivered end to end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a robust delivery strategy for the platform, aligning with the company's overall technology and business vision.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment between engineering, product, sales, and other business units to ensure clear priorities and shared goals.
  • Manage and maintain the Product and Platform backlog for the squads, ensuring it reflects strategic priorities, the Product Roadmap, prioritized Epics and Features, and Business/Technology target operating model and business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sprint execution and backlog management, resulting in increased team velocity and faster time-to-market for key features.
  • Establish effective lean governance frameworks and proactive risk mitigation strategies that maintain project health and transparency for all stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in technical delivery of platforms and products, engineering leadership, or agile project management.
  • Background in Financial Services – ideally in both large organisations as well as FinTech startups.
  • Deep understanding of modern software development processes, customer-facing products, API architectures, workflow management, and complex business rules.
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, backlog management, and sprint execution.
  • Strong experience in leading cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on servant leadership approach with a track record of quickly gaining buy-in and trust from delivery teams.
