We are looking for a solicitor or senior solicitor with relevant experience to work directly with our tax partner, Tony Wilkinson, and the broader team on the firm's largest and most significant transactions. Your responsibilities will be to provide legal advice across a broad range of matters including mergers and acquisitions, investments, securitisation, income tax, GST, financing, restructuring, and customs and excise duty matters while collaborating closely with our Corporate and Commercial and Banking and Finance teams.In this role you will be well supported to deliver your best work – we have a full-time tax support solicitor to manage important administration for the team and you have the option to work as flexibly as you like to complement the existing team.Qualifications and ExperienceWe value people who bring a different perspective, who are passionate, curious and innovative. To be successful in this role, you would also ideally have:A completed Law degree and be admitted as a lawyerTwo or more years of specialised legal tax experience gained from working in a legal tax team at a law firm (any additional experience from an accounting firm would be valuable)Experience with corporate tax matters relating to transactions and international taxAn interest in progressing your career in tax law – you will gain exposure to a myriad of intellectually challenging matters on a regular basisAbout UsA career with Buddle Findlay gives you the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients within internationally recognised teams, alongside some of New Zealand's leading legal talent to shape the future of business in Aotearoa.
