The company values practical problem-solving, innovation in recycling initiatives, and delivering high-quality service to its customers.About the Role:This sole-charge role offers the opportunity to manage the financial operations of a dynamic SME within a larger corporate framework. The successful candidate will oversee both transactional and senior-level reporting duties. You will be key to improving processes, refining reporting quality, and integrating financial operations. Longer term they will be making permanent appointments but this role will be helping them shape the long term, once the process systems are in place they will likely appoint someone to handle transactions.Key Responsibilities:End-to-end management of transactional finance, including a high volume of low value transactionsMonth-end reportingOversee and improve systems (XERO) for better reporting and operational efficiencyCollaborate with stakeholders on process improvements and strategic planningHandle forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management - this is longer term aim once the basics are running smoothlyEnsure compliance with internal and external reporting requirementsSo Who Are You And What Is Your Profile?You are an experienced accountant comfortable with hands-on transactional work as well as strategic reporting. You will be:A fully qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA)Proven experience in SME accounting, preferably within retail or a stock-based business such as import/export, logistics etc.Strong knowledge of accounting systems, with a preference for XeroExcellent communication skills and the ability to influence non-financial stakeholdersA problem-solving mindset, with a track record of improving processesThe ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlinesAs the role is newly created and they are assessing the long term look they are open to reviewing relatively newly qualified accountants at c.$55-60 per hour who might be a long term fit or more experienced operators at around $80 an hour who will come in, deliver then hand over to a permanent hire longer term.Make a lasting impact by improving processes in this high-potential role, with opportunities for long-term growth.Studies have shown that women and people from under-represented backgrounds are less likely to apply for roles where they don't match the job description criteria exactly.
