About the Role: This sole-charge role offers the opportunity to manage the financial operations of a dynamic SME within a larger corporate framework.
The successful candidate will oversee both transactional and senior-level reporting duties.
You will be key to improving processes, refining reporting quality, and integrating financial operations.
Longer term they will be making permanent appointments but this role will be helping them shape the long term, once the processes systems are in place they will likely appoint someone to handle transactions.
Key Responsibilities: End-to-end management of transactional finance, including a high volume of low value transactions Month-end reporting.
Oversee and improve systems (XERO) for better reporting and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with stakeholders on process improvements and strategic planning.
Handle forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management - this is longer term aim once the basics are running smoothly Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
So Who Are You And What Is Your Profile?
You are an experienced accountant comfortable with hands-on transactional work as well as strategic reporting.
You will be: A fully qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) Proven experience in SME accounting, preferably within retail or a stock based business such as import/export, logistics etc.
Strong knowledge of accounting systems, with a preference for Xero.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence non-financial stakeholders.
A problem-solving mindset, with a track record of improving processes.
The ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines As the role is newly created and they are asses the long term look they are open to reviewing relatively newly qualified accountants at c.$55-60 per hour who might be a long term fit or more experienced operators at around $80 an hour who will come in, deliver then hand over to a permanent hire longer term.
