Requirements We are currently seeking a Management Accountant to join our Finance team in our Central Dunedin office. This role requires a candidate with both management and financial accounting experience.
As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing financial information for various stakeholders, including senior management, the board of directors, investors, and tax authorities. Duties may include:
Analysing financial data to support business profitability and growth Preparation of annual consolidated financial statements Financial analysis and planning Providing accurate and relevant management reporting to support decision-making Month-end and year-end journal entries Preparation of monthly group statutory and management accounts Contribution to annual budgeting and planning Capital expenditure management Financial statement preparation, including P&L accounts, cash flows, and variances Ensuring compliance with financial regulations Mentoring and supporting other members of the Finance team Reviewing and improving accounting processes and practices for efficiency Assisting in the annual external audit process Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations Reporting to the Finance Manager based in Dunedin, you will also provide direct support to the CFO based in London.
About you: To succeed in this role, you will need:
A minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience (CAANZ, CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or similar) Experience in end-of-month reporting for multiple entities A proactive and motivated attitude, willing to collaborate with cross-functional teams The ability to adapt and take on various roles within the Finance team as needed Excellent communication skills to present financial data effectively to non-financial managers Strong time management skills and attention to detail An ability to follow procedures and take initiative when necessary A strong sense of pride in delivering high-quality work The ability to work on both complex tasks and routine assignments An effective team player with great interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Benefits 35 days holiday including STAT holidays 2 days paid volunteering leave Life insurance Birthday holiday leave A monthly well-being allowance Access to an extensive on-line learning platform Health benefits cash-back policy Enhanced maternity/paternity leave Fun team culture with an active social club Employee Assistant Programme An opportunity to enhance your career with an organisation that has a strong sense of purpose.
