James People is recruiting for RICADO
RICADO is a world-class industrial monitoring and control platform. Historically working primarily in the kiwifruit industry, RICADO helps clients automate, monitor and control their processes in real time. Solutions include compliance monitoring software, irrigation water management, industrial automation, and process control. In 2024 RICADO acquired Loncel, moving them into hardware production as well as wider agricultural applications.

About the Role
The Chief Technical Officer is responsible for developing and leading the roadmap for all of our products. You could look at the role in three areas:

Chief
You will work with the CEO to ensure the team & culture are healthy, that there is a clarity of purpose and values in everything RICADO does. You will bring strong people skills and communication to this role.

Technical
You will be comfortable gaining an understanding of our products quickly and creating a roadmap for development. You'll be great at interacting with customers, understanding their desires and ensuring we are communicating our roadmap so they know what to expect.

Officer
You will lead the technical team day to day including identifying what roles may be required to enable RICADO to continue to grow. You'll ensure every member of the technical team is set up to succeed with clarity and the tools required to do their best work.

Working with the CEO, you will ensure RICADO has a professional and consistent approach to delivering fit for purpose, stable and well supported software and hardware solutions.

Experience and Qualifications Preferred:
  • Senior level technical leadership at CTO or similar level.
  • Proven experience in customer or end user interaction, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent strategic skills and the experience setting a course.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in leading a technical team and maximizing outcomes with limited resources.
  • You'll need a relatively broad technical understanding to ensure you can set the course effectively and lead the day to day delivery of the work. Some of our current technologies and platforms are:
