**ICT Systems Engineer (Senior)**

**Te Tūranga - The Role**

Tait Communications has an exciting opportunity and are looking for a System Engineer who will work in our ICT team to deliver solutions to internal and external customers using a variety of technologies.

We are looking for someone who has a breadth and depth of hands-on infrastructure experience, covering Networking, Operations, Security, and Operating Systems delivered on a hybrid mix of on-prem, remote data center and public cloud infrastructure.The duties of the role will include:

- Design, build and support of hybrid systems running on Linux, containerised technologies and Windows server.
- Work with many aspects of our network on physical, virtualised Linux and public cloud infrastructure.
- Using structured infrastructure-as-code practices and documentation to ensure consistent delivery and support of systems.
- Participation in structured change management processes and peer reviews to ensure system delivery consistent with the demands of critical communications.
- Participate in the selection and evaluation of third-party solutions and technologies that can be leveraged to deliver the solutions for Tait and it's customers.
- Develop a high level of knowledge of the Tait technology environment to investigate and promote the consolidation of legacy systems to best practice.

**Ō pūkenga - About You**

To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification, preferably in computer science. As well as:

- Experience working in an extremely cross functional environment across Legacy Unix, Linux, and Windows systems in a hybrid on-prem, managed Datacentre and Public Cloud environment.
- Experience in networking with Physical as well as virtual systems. (Cisco, Aruba, Paulo Alto, Junper), knowledge of switching, routing technologies and advanced virtualisation / cloud computing
- Experience with Layer 2 / 3 VPN solutions. IPSEC / OpenVPN / Wireguard etc.
- Understanding of security practice and technologies
- Experience with virtualisation platforms (KVM, VMWare, Hyper-V)
- Experience with public cloud architecture, AWS and Azure
- Proven experience as a Senior Engineer or a similar role for 5+ years
- Strong presentation and modelling skills, experience articulating solution design and specifications using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Experience in large, multi-national, cross-functional teams influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization.
- Be prepared to take part in an on-call roster to support critical infrastructure
