**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We are seeking to recruit** casual Lifeguards **for our newly opened state-of-the-art recreation centre, which is a hub for sport, health, and wellbeing at our university.

As a casual Lifeguard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons using our pool facilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain new skills and be part of a team working in world-class facility.

The main responsibilities of these roles include:

- General lifeguard duties, including pool supervision
- Providing exceptional customer service
- Pool water testing and monitoring
- Ensuring pool safety and H&S standards are met

**Hours**

This advert is for a casual positions. Casual hours will be on-demand work covering peaks and staff absences.

As our centre opens 7 days a week, the ability to work early and late shifts, as well as weekends, is crucial in this role.

**Salary**

The hourly rate for this role is $25.90 hour.

**Start Date**

Training starts in February 2025.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

While having a lifeguard qualification is not essential ( full training provided), it is highly advantageous.

You will also bring the following skills and experience:

- Experience working as a lifeguard is idea, or a customer focus role
- Pool Lifeguard Practicing certificate and First Aid certificate, is a bonus
- Outstanding customer services and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills with an eye for health and safety
- Confident swimming skills
