**THE OPPORTUNITY**

We have a unique opportunity for a skilled and personable tax manager to join our fast-growing in-house tax and M&A team at ZURU Group. Based out of our Auckland HQ, you'll be reporting directly to our Group CFO, who has an impressive background as a former Big 4 International Tax Partner and European Head of Tax for a Fortune 200 company.

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**:

- Generally assisting the CFO on all group tax, structuring and M&A matters, including:

- Project managing reorganisations and acquisitions. This will involve legal support work to effect company closures, openings, and internal restructuring.
- Tax compliance support, particularly master file / local files being built in conjunction with Big 4 benchmarking
- Research, advisory and coordination work on a vast array of tax touch points in the business, including international (eg. BEPS and TP), direct tax (compliance, local laws), and even indirect tax (VAT, tariffs). This role will be a generalist support role rather than specialist advisory which will continue to be outsourced.
- Assisting with corporate governance matters such as AML, board meetings and company filings.
- Assisting/managing tax office audits and controversy as it arises in various jurisdictions around the world.

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**:

- 5 years + experience in one of the Big 4 tax or transactions teams, or a listed multinational’s tax team.
- Great project management skills, with an eye to detail.
- Ability to push transactions forward in an effective way, working cooperatively with various parts of the business with a view to closing projects efficiently and quickly.
- A desire to travel to Australia and China periodically.
- Ideally you have practically assisted with CbCR reporting and compliance as a bonus.
- Tax accounting knowledge desirable - assistance with developing protocols around tax expense, accruals and provisioning, not just for direct tax but also indirect tax, and reviewing management and statutory account tax lines.
- In a perfect world you may speak and/or understand Mandarin. This is definitely not a deal breaker but the Group finance team is primarily based in Shenzhen and regular interactions will be necessary for this role.
