**About the Company**:
Our North Canterbury based client is a trusted and locally reputable firm, who specialise in providing commercial and rural clients with individually tailored accounting services. They pride themselves on generating solutions and advice by taking a proactive approach when working with clients.

**About the Role**:
In this role, you will be joining a growing firm. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team, including overseeing and reviewing financial statements, assisting with complex accounts, and supporting the directors with internal system improvements.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Attend client meetings, including networking, and maintaining client engagement
- Assist staff with complex accounts, and provide support to the internal team
- Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns including FBT and GST
- Ensure compliance obligations are upheld including IRD forms

**Start Date and Hours**:
Standard business hours for this position are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.

**About You**:
This is an existing opportunity for a Senior Accountant looking to take the next step in their career or a seasoned Accounting Manager looking to gain shares in a successful and expanding business. To be successful for this position, our client is looking for someone who is confident interacting with clients, managing a team and has public practice experience. Although desired, experience with rural clients is not required.
- Relevant qualification that meets CAANZ standards
- New Zealand public practice experience
- Xero and Xero Practice Manager experience
- Existing working rights for New Zealand
