**Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)**
As a Kaiāwhina (Allied Health Assistant - AHA) you will join our team of friendly kaiāwhina who are based in Allied Health, District Nursing and Te Piki Oranga. The vacant roles are based in Community Allied Health and District Nursing. You will work under supervision of a registered health professional to provide safe, efficient, and effective clinical care in client’s homes. Other tasks may include supporting effective management of resources and equipment.
Full training will be given and you will be connected with a buddy for peer support during your settling in period.
We have** two permanent full-time positions **each working 80 hours a fortnight. Normal hours will be between 08.00 AM and 16.30 PM, Monday to Friday.

You will be a practical, well organised and physically fit person with life experience, good computer abiity and excellent written, and oral communication skills. You’ll have a friendly and welcoming manner with the ability to relate to a broad range of people of all ages. It will also be important that you can work with direction and delegation processes, be a cooperative team player who is supportive of your colleagues, and work in flexible, positive manner displaying an appropriate level of initiative.
A Home Carer Certificate, or equivalent, and/or experience within the health sector is preferred but is not essential as full training will be provided.
- Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of two NZ approved Covid-19 vaccinations._
**Qualifications**
It’s essential that you have Year 11 - NCEA Level 1 English and Maths (or equivalent) and a current full driver’s licence.
The NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance Strand, if not previously obtained, is to be completed within 2 years of commencement, or to be commenced within your first year of employment_._
