We are looking for a Senior WINTEL Infrastructure Engineer to join the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s ICT Infrastructure team.

The Infrastructure team is responsible for supporting on-premise infrastructure in four physical New Zealand based Data Centres and in over sixty Embassy’s and High Commissions around the world. In addition, the Ministry has been working to build its cloud presence in Azure and the team will soon be taking over this support as well.

You will be jointly responsible for supporting our WINTEL services and other infrastructure related services, and will work to help the team build up its cloud support capability.

This role will appeal to you if you have a passion for technology and take pride in managing and maintaining robust and reliable infrastructure services. These services are critical to the smooth day-to-day running of MFAT’s ICT services.

The role offers leadership opportunities and you will work with a group of dedicated, professional engineers who have significant experience delivering quality services with a focus on the customer. You will be working within the wider Infrastructure Team who actively support each other.

The full salary range for this role from 3 April 2024 is for this role is $104,670 to $141,612 total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution. We expect to appoint around the midpoint $123,141 - give or take depending on your level of experience.

**Please note**: You must be happy to participate on a roster to be on-call on weekends and at nights.

We are keen to hear from you if you’re an experienced Senior WINTEL Systems Engineer with the following skills and experience:

- At least 10 years’ experience in supporting WINTEL IT systems in an enterprise environment.
- In-depth skills and experience in all aspects of Microsoft Server, Active Directory (e.g. DNS, Group Policy, ADFS), SCCM and SCOM, as well as experience with other relevant technologies.
- Operational experience in supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
- Operational experience in providing and supporting cyber security (e.g. Risk analysis, vulnerability identification, incident response and investigations).

In addition, we will be looking for you to demonstrate the following attributes:

- A strong customer focus.
- An enthusiasm for working in a team environment where everyone is welcome, and their contributions and ideas are valued.
