What success looks like in this role:

What Success looks like in this role:

  • System Administration/Management of Windows operating environments.
  • Performs system configuration, hardware/software installation and upgrades of high availability systems.
  • Perform server deployments and decommissioning.
  • Provide technical support and help for internal/external departments and customers which are supported by our organization (Unisys CIS).
  • Technical troubleshooting with a goal of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor system performance and capacity. Proactively provide recommendations for the prevention of system failures.
  • Incident resolution, technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis.
  • Resolve support tickets related issues. Manage and execute Change Requests and Incidents.
  • Follow strict change management and datacenter related policies and procedures.
  • Keep system documentations up to date.
  • Communication within the organization and with the client (nonendusers), internal support teams and external partners.
  • Works well within a team environment

Systems Management
Responsible for the day to day support of computer systems running on a host operating system.

Some of these tasks are:

  • Perform tactical system performance monitoring.
  • Perform hardware and/or software maintenance.
  • Ensure backups are made of systems to allow for recovery of systems and data.
  • Ensure that antivirus and other security components are maintained and supported.
  • Monitor system capacity against specific capacity plans and limits.
  • Document basic reporting procedures for common tasks.
  • Assist in the implementation of recurring change requests.
  • Perform minor changes and more complex changes with the oversight of senior administrators.

Incident Management:


Perform initial incident investigation, resolve incidents using documented procedures or troubleshoot and obtain recovery of normal operations as quickly as possible.

Provide incident reports as determined by the contracted deliverables.

Change Management:

Document change implementation plans and execute the plans reviewed and approved by senior administrators. Perform basic and moderately complex changes with the oversight of senior administrators.

Problem Management:

Gather and document information to assist with the root cause or escalate to senior administrators for solutions.

You will be successful in this role if you have:
Advanced knowledge and working experience with, but not limited to the following:

  • Clustering, IIS, SQL Databases
  • Management Tools
  • Performance Tuning
  • Terminal Services (RDS)
  • ITIL v3 Foundation
  • Ability to work with customers and other technical teams.
  • Knowledge of standard networking ports and protocols.
  • Ability to follow documented patch management solutions.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management terms and processes.
  • VMware Administration of virtual machines.
  • Azure Administration
  • Advanced AD/LDAP Administration, Configuration and Management.
  • Problem/Diagnosis skills for all areas above.
  • Experience with modern IT operations methodologies such as ITIL, with emphasis on IT process improvement.
  • Strong team skills, works well across complex organization and drives collaboration.
  • Familiarity with systems management concepts, processes and standards; capacity/performance management and tuning; and storage and network management.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Expert level Windows Administration, Configuration and Management.
  • Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends solutions/best practices.
  • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions.
  • Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • University degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years domain experience in windows systems administration/Wintel
  • Strong understanding of a large server environment (i.e. Windows Server, Linux)

Recommended Certifications:
Windows - MCSE Cloud platform
