Mō te tūnga | About the role
We are looking for a third HPB surgeon
to join our current HPB team. We are looking for someone who has completed
their specialised training and is committed to working in a team environment
providing shared care for patients with HPB disease.
Currently we provide HPB services to
the upper South Island and perform about 70 resections per year and look after
25 patients with severe acute pancreatitis.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform a wide range of hepatobiliary

surgical procedures, including liver resections,, bile duct surgery, and
pancreatic surgery.
- Diagnose and treat various hepatobiliary
conditions, including liver and biliary tract tumors, gallbladder
diseases, and pancreatic disorders both benign and malignant.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest
advancements in hepatobiliary surgery and contribute to research and
academic and audit activities.
- Provide education and mentorship to
residents, medical students, and fellow surgeons.
- Contribute to the acute general surgical
