Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand, leads the day-to-day running of our health system across New Zealand, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels. It weaves the functions of the 20 former District Health Boards into its regional divisions and district offices, ensuring continuity of services in the health system.
The Team
The Plastic and Reconstructive Department at Christchurch Hospital provides a complete range of secondary and tertiary services for paediatric and adult patients, both acute and elective for the Canterbury and West Coast regions. Acute hand call is shared with the Department of Orthopaedics.
The Department is one of three regional burn units and is the Regional Burn Unit for the South Island.
We are an accredited training centre for the Royal Australian College of Surgeons for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and have a complement of both SET training and non-training registrars within our service.
Mō te tūnga | About the role
We are looking for a 1.0FTE Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon to join our team
You will be expected to partake in the general duties of the department to fulfil service requirements which includes outpatients and skin lesion clinics, elective and acute theatre sessions and Surgeon of the Day.
An on-call component of this role is yet to be determined.
