Our Transport Projects teams are involved in large scale multi-million-dollar projects and we are looking for an experienced Foreperson to join our team working in Wellington. **Te **kōwhiringa | The Opportunity**
The primary role will be management and supervision of the Construction crew carrying out civil infrastructure construction activities, including general carpentry, concrete, bridge and structures maintenance activities.
The Foreperson will be expected to be involved in planning, organizing, directing and controlling activities and operations of crews to ensure that work is completed to the satisfaction of customers and all targets are met.
This is a ‘hands on’ role and the Foreperson will be expected to provide training and development for any existing and new staff. In addition to carpentry activities, there will be on occasion requirement to assist construction teams by fulfilling the role of a general operative.
**Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills**
- Minimum 5 years experience in a specialized concrete and form work
- A track record of supervising teams and subcontractors in a range of maintenance and construction activities is preferrable
- Experience with concrete footpath, driveway and kerb and channel works is desirable
- Be able to deal with unexpected events/make decisions and provide direction to work teams.
- Organised and systematic approach to the working environment
- Strong planning skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A self-starter, highly motivated and goal-oriented Ability to instil a safe and quality-focused site-wide culture
