**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person with excellent technical, communication, organisational and research skills to work as a member of the Human Brain Bank Team in the Centre for Brain Research and Department of Anatomy and Medical Imaging.

Your role will be to effectively and efficiently manage the Human tissue resources in the Brain Bank. This involves a combination of laboratory skills including human brain processing and sample preparation, cataloguing tissue and slides as well as taking an active role in research on the human brain.

This is a full time, 37.5 hours per week, fixed term for 30 months. The salary range for this role is $56,600 - $70,600 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

**Qualifications**:
**He kōrero mōu | About you**

You must have the ability to liaise with researchers outside of the Brain Bank and with the public on matters relating to brain donation. The successful applicant will have meticulous filing and record keeping skills and excellent computer literacy. The person must be willing to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and work with graduate students and staff of the Centre for Brain Research.

The Brain bank team are a small dedicated group of scientists and technicians who work together to achieve the mission of the brain bank to receive and process human brain tissue for neuroscience research. The team work closely together but have aspects of their roles that overlap and aspects of their work that are individually owned. With rapid changes in neuroscience the team is dynamic and flexible to meet the needs of neuroscientists in New Zealand and internationally.
