**He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role**

Hauroa a Toi Bay of Plenty are looking for clinical nurse coordinators with a passion to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment

The Assessment Planning Unit (APU) is a dynamic, fast-paced, and busy unit providing assessment and treatment for acutely unwell medical patients admitted from their GP, plus patients admitted from the Emergency department. APU consists of a triage area within 24 bedded observational ward area and eight ambulatory chairs are known as the ambulatory care unit.

We are currently seeking experienced, passionate, and driven Registered Nurses to join the clinical nurse coordinator team in our vibrant and innovative nurse-led team of the APU. You will be joining a skilled and knowledgeable nursing team that aim for high-quality patient care. The role is based at the Tauranga Hospital.

The purpose of this role is to provide direct clinical coordination and expertise, that ensures a safe and effective practice environment, which supports the management of patient flow through the APU. This exciting role will also support the clinical education/training needs of nursing staff within the APU. This role utilises the principles of evidence-based practice to meet the learning needs of new and developing nursing team members.

The ideal successful applicant will be able to;
- Work effectively and efficiently in a high-pressure team nursing environment
- Demonstrate good leadership, organisational and communication skills
- Provide education and coaching appropriate to Acute Care and the ability to demonstrate clinical leadership.
- Coach new nurses in critical thinking/ clinical reasoning/ undertaking comprehensive assessment of patients to enable early intervention for the sickest/ deteriorating patients
- Can demonstrate safe clinical practice
- Demonstrate a calm demeanour, and good sense of humour
- Looking to become part of a team and is a team player
