About the role
The Senior Advisor Engagement works extensively with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement Authority’s engagement strategies and plans.
The engagement function within the Engagement, Education and Communications team is responsible for supporting the Authority to achieve its regulatory outcomes and better engagement, through the provision of targeted information, education and engagement services to diverse audience groups.
The Senior Advisor Engagement will be an apostle for the engagement function within the team, so the team understands the importance of improving our relationship with stakeholders.
The role requires confidence working with a range of stakeholders, from senior executives to front-line employees and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely, and confidently able to adapting to changing circumstances.
What we’re looking for
- Well-rounded stakeholder and engagement practitioner
- Excellent influencing, facilitating and interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing, editing and oral communications skills; demonstrated experience in tailoring messages to different audiences, including the ability to use plain Language, particularly in regards, to legislation and technical guidance
- Current knowledge of social marketing and public information strategies and practice
- Ability to Interact with stakeholders in conjunction with the relevant leader/manager from the Authority
- Delivery and strategic work
- e.g., gathering information internally and then taking it external
- Navigate through complex organisations and deal directly with stakeholders
- Ability to work comfortably at the senior level, engagement at Tier 1,2 and 3 level
- A self-starter who can work independently
- Knowledge of public sector processes and regulatory systems and how government works is desirable
- A tertiary qualification, preferably in communications, political science, or comparable relevant experience. Project management and engagement accreditations (e.g., PRINCE2, IAP2) is desirable.
