We are pleased to announce we have a newly created opportunity for a Sustainability Communications Advisor to join our Sustainability Hub within the University. The Sustainability Communications Advisor will identify content opportunities to engage and enlighten University staff, students and alumni and partners, on a range of sustainability related content, support and events.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with the Central Communications Team and lean on them for knowledge and access to the wider university networks.

This is a key role in the university and will create opportunity for change and inspiration across the sustainability sector.

For more detailed information, please refer to the Position Description. Please note this is a full time (37.5 hours/week) permanent position, with a salary range of $80,000 - $90,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

As this role involves getting out there and interacting with people in all areas of the university, you will be an outgoing person, who is comfortable connecting with a wide range of people.

Since the sustainability team itself is a small team, you will be required to be self-motivated and comfortable working alone some of the time. Though there is also the larger central comms team who can also provide guidance and support.

You’ll be a go-getter, not afraid to ask questions or try new things Given this is a newly created role within the university you will have the opportunity to forge the path for your role and be encouraged to innovate and explore the possibilities.

It would be of benefit if you have worked with a NFP or similar values-based organisation previously.

**Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Motuhake**
- It is essential that you hold a tertiary qualification in public relations or journalism or commensurate
- Have at least three to five years in digital writing, editing and publishing
- Excellent relationship management skills, working with stakeholders at all levels
- High quality written communication skills, including writing for web publications
- MS Office skills and web content publishing skills, experience in the use of CMS is essential

**Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team**

The Sustainability Hub acts as a connector between the University’s sustainability activities, including teaching, research, engagement and operational activities. The Sustainability Hub provides advice to a high-level Sustainability Management Board and help inform strategic direction. In addition, the Sustainability Hub will:

- Provide capability building and education on sustainability good practice
- Support sustainability curriculum development
- Support student sustainability leadership
- Monitor and report on sustainability progress
- Manage the Living Labs
- Manage Communities of Practice
- Host a Sustainability Forum for staff, students, alumni and external stakeholders
