Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
This role is within ERO's Review and Improvement Services group (RIS). RIS works with early childhood services to review and report on the quality of education in Aotearoa New Zealand. The work of RIS is underpinned by the articles and principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and that Māori enjoy and achieve education success as Māori. Our organisational values - Poutokomanawa, Whakawhanaungatanga, Mahi Tahi - guide our work.
RIS has the following vacancy in the early childhood national MRIS team:

- One permanent position based in either Auckland or Hamilton.

**Key responsibilities of MRIS are to**:

- Provide leadership to support the delivery of high quality education reviews and evaluations of early childhood services
- Work with a team of dedicated people passionate about their work and the organisation's vision ‘Ko te Tamaiti te Putake o te Kaupapa (The child, The heart of the matter)'
- Help ensure that every service is a great place to learn and is on a journey of continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Director Early Childhood, Review and Improvement Services, your focus is to provide leadership that supports the delivery of high quality education reviews and evaluations of early childhood services.
You will work as part of a small collaborative national team of MRIS and oversee an operational portfolio of work aligned to Review and Improvement Services' strategic intentions. The role includes leadership of a group of Review Officers, their evaluation practice and oversight of their evaluation work. We see you bringing strong organisational and interpersonal skills to the role and team. Capability using digital systems and processes to communicate and collaborate and the ability to adapt, innovate and think strategically are key requirements. The focus for the next 6-12 months is refining and embedding the ways we work nationally, so that early childhood services experience consistently high-quality evaluation practice.
