The Commercial Group has an exciting (and challenging) opportunity to deliver meaningful and enduring social impact for Aotearoa. We use our commercial expertise and connections to provide more warm, dry and safe homes for New Zealanders and to become a partner of choice. We do this by building deep partnerships with the private sector including developers, suppliers, build partners, and financial institutions (to name a few). Our intention is to support and maintain a thriving ecosystem that collectively delivers better outcomes for our customers.
Reporting to and working closely with the Director - Commercial Group Operations, you will play a key role to create a proactive and engaging performance-reporting environment by understanding the current Commercial Group delivery reporting requirements and audiences then assessing the effectiveness of this landscape. In this role, you will have the ability to interpret data to improve forecasting and deliver activity based (progress) storytelling to realise the benefit of investment and progress of our housing delivery systems.
Developing and implementing an action plan for a fit for purpose reporting framework with appropriate operational and strategic reporting methodology for key senior audiences is a key priority. Highlighting ongoing Commercial Group opportunities, challenges and blind spots is core to the role. Proactively arming leadership teams with engaging and thought-provoking visualisation tools and materials to impact change is the primary focus.
We also need great relationships with our stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that we can deliver our organisational vision. In addition to this, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing insight and improvement initiatives to deeper gain insight on macro key drivers for stakeholder engagement, supplier advocacy and response theme sentiment to deepen supplier relationships.
To be successful in this role you will need to have proven experience in developing and implementing reporting frameworks, forecasting and future scenario modelling. You will be comfortable with and have relevant experience in leading insight improvement programmes/initiatives in a Business-to-Business or professional services environment.
This role will act as a support to the wider Commercial Group Operations team and contribute to the team mission. Rolling up your sleeves and proactively tackling ad hoc challenges will come naturally to you. Exceptional all round communication skills with the ability to think strategically and operationally at the same time is key to be successful within this role.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Strategic Management, Marketing, Analytics, Economics or Finance.
- Extensive experience in complex working environment i.e. professional services, financial services or public sector.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills based on sound reasoning, to ensure complex issues are communicated in a simple and logical manner to colleagues, opinion leaders and other stakeholders.
- Experience in prioritising demands, meeting deadlines and delivering desired results by taking ownership and using effective self and time management approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, collect, organise and analyse data to provide information and enable decision-making.
- Experience distilling complex information into simple business recommendations for business stakeholders.
- A proven record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals, groups and peers - able to collaborate, influence, manage competing interests, manage conflict and work effectively with senior leadership and multiple internal and external stakeholders including development industry professionals, local and central government agencies.
