Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai (DOC) serves to protect and sustain nature across Aotearoa. We put nature and people at the heart of our mahi, guided by te reo Māori, te ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Sitting within the Organisational Support Group, we have recently seen the establishment and centralisation of the Asset Management Unit which will form a ‘Centre of Excellence'. This team will deliver a more efficient and streamlined asset management service across the department.

He angitūtanga | About the role
Reporting to the Director Asset Management, the Asset Delivery Manager will be responsible for acquisition of new assets, asset renewal projects and improvement projects aligned to DOC's Asset Strategy. We have two vacancies available, overseeing the North and South Island portfolios, respectively.

**The position will be focussed on**:

- Leading and managing the planning of asset projects and programmes through the lifecycle
- Leading the performance of all projects and programmes in accordance to plans and budgets to meet desired objectives
- Working cross-functionally and collaboratively with key internal stakeholders during project planning and delivery
- Identify and monitor critical risks, ensuring appropriate action is taken to mitigate areas of concern
- Lead and develop a talented team providing clear guidance, mentorship and structure to achieve key deliverables
- Ensuring DOC operates as an honourable treaty partner

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
If you have some of the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

- Previous experience delivering medium to large complex programmes of work, asset capital projects and the development of business cases
- A thorough knowledge of project or programme management practices and principles paired with an understanding of procurement frameworks - relevant qualifications in this area would be desirable
- A passionate and energetic leader and mentor who leads by example and empowers their team to achieve a common goal
- A strong collaborator, you're able to build trust and influence stakeholders, taking on others opinions whilst remaining on track
- Current full drivers license
- Understands the impact DOC and the wider public sector/government has on the Māori-Crown relationship
