RV Fibre Optics Ltd. is actively looking for Telecommunication Technicians to become part of a prosperous enterprise located in Auckland on a full-time, permanent arrangement. The position entails a weekly workload of 30 hours, with a competitive compensation of $30 per hour.

As valuable members of the team, the chosen individuals will contribute significantly to the growth and triumph of the company, primarily operating within the Auckland Region. While occasional travel to other areas of the North Island may be necessary, adequate accommodation and travel allowances will be supplied.

**Responsibilities**:

- Surveying, perform cable build, laying and jointing of Telecommunications, Data & Voice structured cabling.
- Install Fibre Optic, Category 6e Structured Distribution Systems.
- Install OFDC and IFDB
- IP Configuration & troubleshooting of Optical Network Terminal (ONT) on customer premises.
- Installing troubleshooting repairing and replacing of peripherals like controllers, routers, modems and UPS equipments
- Trenching and slot cut to install underground cable.
- Ran overhead cable via aerial route.
- Use existing ducts and conduit to haul fibre.
- Installation of outlets and pre-termination including organizing, forming dressing and labelling cables to industry standards.
- Inspecting and testing lines, recording and analysing test results to assess transmission characteristics and locating faults or malfunctions.
- Connects wires and cables to terminals and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to cables and buildings.
- Mounting FTP (Fibre Terminal Point), ONT (Optical Network Terminal) and connecting to FAT (Fibre Access Terminal), Cabinet or ABFFP.
- Terminate, assemble and install 8-pin modular connectors and coaxial connectors in existing or new network system.
- Accurately test copper and fibre (multimode and single mode) cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment as required.
- Plans network installations by studying customer order plans, manuals and technical specifications, ordering and gathering equipment, tools and materials, tools and materials accessing installation site, preparing an installation diagram.
- Determine closet and equipment layouts and install closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fibre enclosures.
- Fibre Optic installation and Fusion splicing in commercial and domestic properties (FTH project).
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading publications.
- Maintain safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.
- Troubleshoots problems that will require splicing, fault-finding etc
- Maintains network by troubleshooting and repairing outages, testing network backup procedure updating documentation for that.
- Attend training and safety meetings.
- Work safely at all times utilizing the necessary Personal Protection Equipment. Demonstrate
- safe working practices to other technicians.
- Serve as a liaison between office and field, communicating all information that is not classified as confidential.
- Perform administrative tasks including, but not limited to, documenting test results and as-builds completing safety reports and customer consent form etc.
- Use of Tech Mate software to test Optical Network Terminal (ONT) status like optical power level, ONT to RGW connectivity.
- Fill JPSI(before starting job), DSS, Pole Form (For aerial job) ,Working at height permit (before climbing pole),Ground Disturbance permit(if you doing any trench, slot cut or digging),create iauditor and scoping form for the job
- Programming and commissioning of end customer voice and internet data equipment provided by regional service providers.
