Senior Network Manager

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Waka Kotahi NZTA maintain and operate the Marlborough State highway network and Marlborough Road. Supporting the delivery of local road professional services, operations, and maintenance of the local road network for Marlborough District Council. The Marlborough Roads (MR) team manage 260km of State highway, 1,550km of local road, 160km of DoC roads and all the associated assets, community services and relationships associated with the roading network for Waka Kotahi and Marlborough District Council. We are seeking a Senior Network Manager, who will be responsible for network management across both the Marlborough District and State Highway networks, including programme management, physical delivery, and financial management of both networks. In addition, you will:
- Manage corridor management
- Provide financial management of Council programme
- Point of contact for key stakeholders and customers for day-to-day operational network management needs.
- Represent Marlborough Roads at Council sub committees
- Provide Roading input into Resource Consents being processed by Council
- Accountable for environmental and legislative compliance on the network
- Project manage the delivery of Council Capital Projects
Ko koe tēnei | About you This is a hands-on challenging role; and to succeed you will bring:
- Technical and practical experience in Asset Management, maintenance, and renewals practices for roading networks.
- A knowledge and understanding of delivering best value solutions within a constrained budget.
- An understanding of forward works programmes and experience of balancing competing priorities
- Knowledge of Asset Data, and Financial Management
- Experience at dealing with complex and sensitive issues in a political environment
- Risk Management experience
- Able to collaborate with others and demonstrate an ability to build strong relationships to deliver agreed outcomes
- An NZ Driver's Licence (or equivalent) is required
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
