Eke Panuku Development Auckland - one of New Zealand’s most unique organisations - is tasked with creating transformational change in how Auckland grows by catalysing urban redevelopment opportunities. It strategically creates value from council assets by partnering with private developers, iwi, not-for-profit organisations, and central government across the Auckland region to undertake urban regeneration.

**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Health and Safety and their team will be responsible for championing a Health & Safety culture, integrating Health & Safety policies, processes, and practices in everything we do. You will be tasked with ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our people at Eke Panuku and the people of Tāmaki Makaurau are put first.
This pivotal role requires great influential skills as you will engage all levels from the Board well as internal and external stakeholders and providers. You will have a substantial background in H&S and are able to provide day to day management and leadership to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing team, building and developing high performance and a focus on achieving results. Experience managing and supporting contractors would be highly regarded.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
We are looking for an authentic people person - who is passionate about assisting others and identifying ways to make processes more efficient with sufficient experience to operate with mínimal supervision. You have strong interpersonal skills and can build strong relationships both internally and externally and engage various stakeholders to drive results.

You also have demonstrated practical experience in health and safety management, including policy development, accident investigation, hazard identification, assessment and control, contract management, rehabilitation, and wellness programmes.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, strong financial and asset management skills, solid experience in negotiation and dispute resolution, and knowledge of building management across all trades, building industry legislation and H&S legislation.

**To be successful you will need**:

- NEBOSH or Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or an equivalent degree, preferably degree in occupational health and safety (GradDipOSH)
- Cert NZISM or CMISOH or equivalent
- A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in Health & Safety within a medium to large corporate, industrial health services environment
- 5 years’ experience in managing a team
