**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and passionate Health and Safety Coordinator to come join our team. Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will be responsible for providing advice and guidance on H&S issues relevant to our company, and for the management and delivery of compliant, user friendly and risk focused Health, Safety & Wellbeing programmes.

Other duties include:

- Maintaining the HSW ISO 45001 framework and procedures to ensure ongoing safety resulting in a safe and injury free workplace
- Regular meetings with our H&S committee members based around the country to identify and manage risks
- Conduct and monitor accident, incident, and near miss investigations ensuring appropriate corrective actions are completed in a timely manner
- Occasional branch visits to conduct internal audits
- Analysing and reporting on all H&S metrics
- Maintaining and communicate the hazard register for all sites including proactive reporting of hazards and near misses
- Coach and influence multiple stakeholders in safety to achieve a change in culture, instilling responsibility and ownership of safety to reduce risks

**Skills & experience**
- Prior experience in a similar role
- NZ Certificate in Workplace H&S Practice (Level 4) or working towards it is advantageous
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation and best practices
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments and identifying effective controls and solutions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Able to work autonomously
- Attention to detail and analytical skills
