Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Our Information Management Division (IMD) provides key services to the Ministry in the areas of knowledge and information technology management, ensuring that the Ministry has the digital tools it needs to enable day-to-day business. Our staff are committed to building a safe, more prosperous and sustainable future for all New Zealanders, assisting the government with international priorities and providing advice to the government on the implications for New Zealand of what is happening in the world.
The Project Delivery function in IMD provides fit-for-purpose programme/project management and coordination for the projects within the ICT Portfolio, including supplier management and the resource management of technical specialists from various IMD capability teams.
**The Programme and Portfolio Specialist is responsible for**:

- Design and Delivery documentation management
- Delivery coordination including project scheduling, mapping interdependencies, maintaining registers (Benefits, Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Decisions) and an IMD wide focus on enterprise resource management
- Delivery reporting for the Portfolio, Programme and Projects for various stakeholders including status reports and financial forecasts to the governance forums.
- Proving specialise financial administration for the projects and programme

We expect to appoint between $76,363 and the midpoint which is $89,839 (total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution) give or take depending on your level of experience.

We’d like to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

- Experience in providing high-quality and timely project support services.
- Experience working with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with EPMO/PMO environments.
- Familiarity with Architecture and Design solution lifecycle processes and documents.
- Strong achievement/delivery/organisation focus including high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in using Psoda or other Portfolio Management tools and an understanding of, and use of, good portfolio data.

Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Māori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Māori (the Māori worldview) into your work. If you are just starting on this journey that’s OK too - as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability.
