We recently established an EPMO at Napier City Council, designed to foster cohesion, transparency, and a shared understanding of our ongoing projects and collaborative approaches. Now, we're thrilled to be on the lookout for our next exceptional team member—an experienced Change Lead
As the EMPO Change Lead, you'll be at the forefront of shaping our organisation’s future by developing and implementing a cutting-edge change management methodology, seamlessly integrated with our enterprise project processes. You’ll lead and facilitate change management activities within the EPMO, ensuring that every project not only delivers but also sustains positive change.
In this pivotal role, you'll own the change components of our enterprise portfolio process, working closely with cross-council teams to build a strong change culture. Collaborating with our Communication team, you'll enhance change leadership capabilities across the council, fostering a unified approach to change management.
As **Change Lead** your will key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement change management methods for all project stages, from initiation to close, across EPMO programmes and projects.
- Support EPMO Portfolio management by analysing and monitoring the council's capacity for change and managing current and future change efforts.
- Assist the EPMO Manager in promoting the use of consistent EPMO methodologies, including change management practices.
- Evaluate the scope and impact of project changes to select the best approach for sustainable results and minimize resistance.
- Plan and manage EPMO communications and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate closely with the NCC Communications team to align with existing communication processes and channels.
- Foster long-term, strategic relationships with EPMO customers, stakeholders, partners, and project teams.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to portfolio, programme, and project staff, including project sponsors.
- Support collaborative learning initiatives, such as the Community of Practice, from a change management perspective.
**About You**:
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Industry-recognized qualification in Change Management (e.g., PROSCI, CCMP) with a proven track record of leading successful projects in complex environments.
- Over 10 years of experience in programme, project, or change management.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in local or central government.
- Extensive experience working in large, diverse organizations with low change management maturity.
