About the job
We have a fantastic new opportunity for a **Quality and Food Safety Manager** to be part of our talented and dynamic Quality and Food Safety team based in Auckland. As a key people leader, you will contribute toward delivering Danone Quality and Food Safety ambition and commitments with a focus on identifying opportunities for improvements while promoting consumer-centric thinking.

Reporting to the Quality and Food Safety Director ANZ, you will contribute to the Auckland site’s Quality and Food Safety short and long-term strategies and plans. You will lead QFS Audits and work closely with the external authorities ensuring Danone adheres to the required compliance and regulations.

You will:

- Design and deliver QFS strategies and ensure robust quality systems on the site
- Motivate and coach the team in developing the required technical competencies necessary to effectively deliver and drive desired business results
- Manage operational impacts of quality and food safety including Capex, budget, and improvement projects
- Build an agile mindset within the core team with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure appropriate GMP and other standards are maintained on-site with effective gap analysis leading to robust corrective and preventive actions
- Effectively manage QFS risks and QFS input into the change management process
- Manage customer complaints and non-conformity investigations on the site
- Work collaboratively with the cross-functional local and global teams on various QFS projects

About you
You are a strong people leader and a strategic, experienced Quality professional. Your proven leadership and stakeholder management experience, project management background, and ability to work with external regulatory authorities will be advantageous in this role.** **You bring a strong quality and food safety systems implementation background including improvement systems. Your ability to work cross-functionally and your natural flair to build and sustain good working relationships will be key to your success in this role.

To be successful you should also ideally have:

- A tertiary qualification in Chemistry/Microbiology/Food Science or similar
- Proven management experience in Infant Formula/Dairy/Food or other FMCG manufacturing
- Good understanding of HACCP, FSSC22000, GHP & GMP systems and requirements
- Sound IT skills (statistical process control and problem-solving expertise desirable)
- Prior experience in food handling and pathogen management
- Lean manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma experience would be a plus
