**Introduction**:
Critical support role responsible for non-emergency transport, hospital transfers, and specialised patient transfers in the Greater Wellington region.

**Description**:
We are currently looking for full time and part time Patient Transfer Officers (PTO’s) to be based in the greater Wellington region. Patient Transfer Officers are responsible for providing non-emergency transport, hospital transfers, outpatient appointments and specialised patient transfers across the Wellington Free Ambulance region.

As Patient Transfer Officer you will be working on a variety of permanent shifts allowing the service to cover 7 days a week from 0600-2300. There are both full and part time positions available.

**The main duties of the role are**:
Providing the highest possible standard of patient care and transportation for non-emergency transport, hospital transfers, outpatient appointments and specialised patient transfers
Providing excellent customer service
Accurately completing documentation
Ensuring the patient transfer vehicles are fully equipped and ready to use and maintaining appropriate administration

**Skills and Experiences**:
**The successful applicant will**:
**Hold a valid First Aid Certificate (NZQA Unit Standards**: 6402, 6401, 6400)
Hold a current full clean drivers’ licence (for over 2 years) with defensive driving course (within last 2 years).
Be flexible and adaptable with work routine
Have excellent communication skills and customer focus
The ability to work with and relate to people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
A Clean criminal record
Be physically strong and fit, as role includes manual handling
