The Nurse Educator NETP is a key member of the Te Whatu Ora Nelson Marlborough’s strategic development workforce team.

This district-wide role will work collaboratively alongside all areas, within our region, that have employed a New Entry to Practice (NETP) nurse including primary health organisations, secondary services, Māori health providers and aged care facilities.

As a Nurse Educator NETP - you will be pivotal in the professional development of our new graduate workforce. You will lead the development of this new role and will support the transition to competence for our new practitioners.

You will coach and educate staff to their best potential resulting in improved experiences for our health consumers. You will work alongside the nursing and clinical teams to lead and develop ongoing educational strategies that develop the confidence and competence of our graduates in their first year of practice.

You will:

- Have a commitment to improving health outcomes for our community.
- Bring a comprehensive knowledge of the nursing workforce and support the development of the sustainable, diverse, skilled, and confident nurses of the future.
- Bring a sound understanding of key issues contributing to Māori health inequalities and a genuine commitment to improved Māori and Pacifica health outcomes.
- Have a commitment to embed a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement, innovation in the new graduates undertaking their first year of practice.
- Be an experienced, resilient and adaptable registered nurse with a current practicing certificate and extensive nursing experience.
- Have excellent communication and engagement skills, and you will have demonstrated your ability to understand and to teach adults in both formal and informal setting.
- Have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a variety of team members to achieve excellent programme outcomes.
- Have a current Expert portfolio (or working towards) and a Certificate in Adult Teaching Level 4, as well as Masters of Nursing level post graduate education or working towards (essential).

It would also be an asset if you had an established understanding of, and network within, our local health communities.

The salary for this designated senior nurse position is Grade 2 ($112,660 to $123,955) based on the current NZNO MECA and registration in New Zealand.
