Nearly three-quarters of the port's inbound cargo stays within the Auckland and Upper Waikato region. Our location on Auckland's doorstep means the delivery of goods is quick, the cost of goods is low, and we are focusing on reducing our carbon footprint to become a sustainable Port. We also have a network of freight hubs throughout the North Island, to improve access to the port for the provinces.

Are you passionate about driving change and making a lasting impact? We're seeking a dedicated individual to join us on a part-time (20hours), fixed term (12 months) basis as a **Sustainability and Environment Advisor** at the Port of Auckland.

**ABOUT THE ROLE | Te tūranga mahi**

Reporting into the Head of Sustainability and Environment this fixed term position involves:

- Leading the assessment of climate-related risks across our business, evaluating existing management controls, and proposing enhancements.
- Coordinating the development of our Climate Adaptation plan, including the formulation of robust monitoring metrics for effective implementation.
- Assisting in preparing our annual climate disclosure report, ensuring compliance with the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) standards.
- Supporting in providing vital climate-related information to our council, fostering strong collaborations and knowledge exchange.

**ABOUT YOU | Ko wai koe**
- Relevant qualifications in environmental/sustainability fields or demonstrated experience in business planning and strategy development.
- Sound knowledge of sustainability principles and evolving climate-related regulations within New Zealand.
- Strong leadership skills coupled with the ability to influence and forge robust networks with stakeholders. Proficient in explaining complex issues to varied audiences.
- Capable of assessing costs, developing business cases, and ensuring regulatory compliance, especially relating to the Zero Carbon Act.
- Comfortable with learning and using various software programs.
- Patience, honesty, reliability, and solid organisational skills.

**WHAT YOU NEED | Ngā pūkenga me whēako**
- A valid NZ driver's license for mobility purposes on the Port.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the field (preferrable).
