**We are looking for an** **Engineering Design Support Manager to join and become part of our One Winning Team**

- Based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) or Pōneke (Wellington)

**What you’ll do**

Reporting to the General Manager Engineering, you’ll be responsible for leading and developing a skilled team of 18-24 Engineering Design support professionals. You’ll be accountable for leading the Engineering Design Support outputs including liaison and working collaboratively with the Engineering Team’s stakeholders and customers during all stages of the workflow. You’ll also lead the development and implementation of an Infrastructure Digital Engineering Strategy.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Leadership of the Engineering Design Support team and their functions inc. Financial and Estimating, Procurement and Consultant/Contractor Management, Digital Engineering, CAD, and Document Control.
- Supplier market engagement and value improvement inc. the development and implementation of Supplier Performance Management Framework.
- Develop reporting dashboard to monitor and report Engineering delivery performance.
- Stakeholder/Customer relationship management.
- Support Engineering Programme Management, establishing and maintaining processes and systems to interface with delivery partners.

**What you’ll need**

You’ll have a relevant Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering. You’ll ideally be a Chartered Engineer with Professional registration with a relevant organisation along with 10+ years’ experience managing technical staff, working in the Rail industry and in the delivery of projects and/or Engineering support services.

**In addition you will have**:

- An excellent understanding of best practice engineering principles.
- Proven ability to engage collaboratively and manage Customer and Stakeholder relationships while maintaining an objective “best for business” mindset and approach.
- Ability to foster and manage relationships with other Engineering and KiwiRail business groups to develop and implement infrastructure workbanks.
- Proven, strong commercial and financial acumen, including the ability to understand and communicate financials and identify commercial opportunities.
- Empowering and inclusive leader, with proven ability and focus on a bottom-up leadership approach built on engagement and collaboration.
- Innovative and agile, with proven ability to listen, adjust and change as business / customer needs change.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and MS Project.
- Understanding of Digital Engineering, engineering design, and document management best practice, tools and processes.
