GHD is on the lookout for an experienced and dynamic Building Engineering Services ( **MEP) Team Leader **to join our team in **Wellington **.

You will manage the day-to-day functioning of the team. This includes ensuring that key objectives are met, building team capability around technical delivery, project and client outcomes.

The role will also manage team members throughout the employment lifecycle (Safety/Wellbeing, Recruitment, On boarding, Performance Planning and Review and Professional Development).

You will also have responsibilities for Business Development activity with a focus on managing, delivering and liaising closely with clients.

**The role**:

- Provide day to day supervision and coaching to the team in line with GHD’s core values and strategy.
- Maintain and promote a safe working environment and wellbeing culture within the team in line with HSE policies and guidelines.
- Support and coach members of the team around technical delivery, performance and client service - targeted to individual strengths and team needs.
- Lead internal and client debriefs, communicate lessons learned and implement improvement actions.
- Ensure the technical soundness of work produced by the team.
- Identify and participate in opportunities to build client relationships and grow the business.
- Timely delivery of services to meet scope, quality and budget requirements.
- Support Bid Managers in the Proposal process - including writing content, coordination and tailoring of CV’s, relevant experience and track record.

**About you**:

- A relevant university degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering with at least 10+ year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Proven experience working on multi-disciplinary projects
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- A strong professional network within the region, self-motivated and energetic, with a bias to action.
- Attention to detail and financially numerate
- Understanding of competitive and market intelligence gathering, analysis and use
- Computer savvy and proficient with Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to coach, support and direct team members to ensure effective client outcomes.
- Demonstrate ability to maintain individual chargeable time and target utilisation for the group
