At Marama Labs, we’re solving some of the hardest industry challenges through our scientific innovations. We’re bringing physics and data analytics to industries such as global winemaking and biopharma production. Our (patented) hardware and cloud-software platform puts cutting-edge science in the hands of our clients, helping them in their pursuit of knowledge and better products.

Science doesn’t just happen in a lab, done by people in lab coats. There is lots of that, but to transmute lab science into real world solutions, you need savvy engineers, data scientists, designers, sales people and a wealth of other skills.

Marama Labs are a team of creative problem-solvers from different backgrounds, who pool their skills to build our products and solve really tough problems for customers.

**Requirements**:
We are looking for an experienced product-minded tech lead with a deep appreciation for communication, the power of shared understanding and a sense of humour. You have either been in this role before and love it or ready to take a first leap into technical leadership while remaining hands-on. You will work closely with our existing developers to design and build our software platform, as we undertake a major expansion of our products.

You will daily write, review and debug code, plan ahead, clarify requirements, help the team deliver value, but most of all collaborate and be a great communicator and technical mentor with your fellow software engineers. You will be working closely with our Head of Software and other senior leaders on all aspects of product development. You will be interacting with clients to hone our feature-set, and collaborating with our physicists and chemists to refine our algorithms.

**Our current software stack includes the following tools and technologies**:

- Javascript, Vue, Node and GraphQL run our web platform in the cloud
- MongoDB is our main data store
- Python is used for data analysis
- C (Linux and embedded code) run the internals of our hardware
- We are using GitLab for everything DevOps. Docker, Mocha + Chai run most of our JS automated testing

**Experience or ability with following are necessary to be successful in this role**:

- You ideally have had 2+ years experience as a tech lead and love it. However, if you are an experienced senior developer and are looking forward to taking the next step, this might be the perfect opportunity for you.
- Effective and open teamwork and communication, with confidence and self-awareness.
- 5+ years professional full-stack development experience, ideally in technologies relevant to our technical stack.
- Experience using and configuring continuous integration, automated testing and other DevOps tasks.
- Production experience with and awareness of the pros and cons of a major cloud computing platform such as AWS, Azure, Heroku or GCP.

Experience with Linux, real-time systems, data visualisation, scientific projects or data analytics will be advantageous, as would be some hands-on experience with embedded C programming.
