Obstetrician & Gynaecologist Consultant
Fixed Term 1.00 FTE (Including on call)
Lakes provides healthcare for a population of 108,000 people through our hospitals located at the centre of the North Island of New Zealand, at two stunning settings next to Lake Rotorua and Lake Taupo. Rotorua, Taupo and Turangi are internationally acclaimed for trout fishing and Mt Ruapehu for snow skiing. The district is also well known for its other outdoor recreational options including tramping, cycling, mountain biking as well as lake and river water sports such as boating and kayaking. Rotorua is less than one hour's drive from the Bay of Plenty coast that offers lots of sun, good surf, boating, fishing and deep sea diving. Rotorua is the tourist centre of the North Island of New Zealand.
The hospital has recently upgrading birthing unit and maternity ward areas, ICU and theatres, and a state of the art ambulatory outpatient area for Gynaecology, to facilitate outpatient hysteroscopy and Colposcopy/LLETZ.
Membership of RANZCOG (or equivalent) is required. Applicants must hold or be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
