The Opportunity:
Due to company growth, we’re looking for an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team based out of Hamilton.

As a hands on Civil Lab Technician & team player, you’ll assist in daily operations of the Laboratory in conjunction with the Senior Laboratory Technicians & Laboratory Manager whilst ensuring continuation of IANZ requirements.

Each day is different with a variety of work both in the Waikato and across New Zealand on occasions giving yourself the opportunity to be part of a fantastic team with plenty of forward work.

In addition to above, you’ll be responsible for:
- Sampling, testing and site testing of civil engineering construction materials - aggregates, soils and asphalt- Testing of texture of roads and airports across New Zealand- Design work for aggregate and asphalt mixes- Recording, analysing and reporting results.- Following all work instructions and test methods in accordance with IANZ and other standards.- Undertaking safe work practices at all times.

What you will bring to the table:
- Past or current civil engineering laboratory experience - in one or more or the following areas - aggregate, asphalt and site testing such as NDM use etc.- Past or current science related laboratory experience.- Accuracy and keen attention to detail - with the ability to follow laboratory methods and SOPs.- Willingness to learn with a desire to increase personal technical knowledge.- Strong communication skills, crucial for results reporting and client interaction.- Can do and a positive attitude with a desire to work in a laboratory environment.- Ability to see the big picture and coordinate team efforts.
