What your role and typical day might look like
As our Senior Data & Analytics Consultant you will play a key role as our go to person for all things data within Merkle Aotearoa. As a result, you’ll dip into your bag of experiences to understand challenges, ideate ways to solve those problems, and then deliver those agreed upon solutions into something tangible. For example, your deep understanding of data governance, collection, management, and reporting processes, will help clients leverage advanced technologies such as Salesforce Data Cloud, Snowflake, and AWS platforms as a part of their digital transformation.
To help us and clients make sense of their valuable data, a proficiency in visualization tools like Tableau, Salesforce CRMA or Power BI will be essential to help clients realise the value of their data through insights into actions and decisions.
Responsibilities include:
- Engage with clients to conduct thorough needs assessments and understand their data management requirements, objectives, and challenges to create opportunities for change.- Develop and implement robust data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.- Establish data quality standards and protocols for data collection, storage, and usage.- Design and implement data collection strategies, leveraging technologies such as Alteryx, Snowflake, Salesforce Data Cloud and other relevant platforms.- Oversee the design and implementation of data warehouses using Snowflake, AWS platforms or other similar platforms.- Develop reports and dashboards using visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to provide insights into customer data trends and patterns.- Collaborate closely with client stakeholders as a trusted advisor, understand, guide and evolve business needs and align data strategies.- Deliver training sessions (internally and externally) and workshops to educate clients and teams on data management principles, best practice, tools, and techniques.
A bit about you:
- Proven experience in a similar role as a Data & Analytics Consultant, ideally within a professional services or consulting organisation.- A bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science and/or a related field.- Strong analytical skills and communication skills, e.g. an ability to interpret complex data sets and extract actionable insights, and translate those into opportunities for clients.- Expertise in data governance principles, methodologies, and best practices.- Experience in Salesforce Data Cloud, Snowflake, or AWS data platforms.- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.- Familiarity with Alteryx for data preparation and blending would be advantageous.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and internal stakeholders.- Keen desire to learn and grow in career, with proven track record of adopting new technologies. Exposure to Generative AI would be an added bonus but not essential.- Project management skills - ability to prioritise tasks, manage timelines, bring people across teams together and deliver results within time and budget.
