The School of population Health is one of five in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. **Job Description** Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

This role is an opportunity to play a key role in developing a large transdisciplinary research group (including the opportunity to carve out a role for oneself in this proposal). This project is about working with care facilities, home care providers, older people and their whanau to increase the utility of interRAI (comprehensive assessment) data and reports. You will also convene group meetings, assist with manuscript preparation, provide administrative support and support all aspects of the project.

Key tasks will include organizing and hosting meetings between researchers and informants, literature searching, writing meeting notes and summarizing key themes, managing the collection of feedback on pilot data reports, building and maintaining relationships with support from the researchers.

This is a 0.3FTE role, 12 hours per week, on a Fixed Term 18 month contract.

- Examining and improving the provision of health care through a health systems approach
- Working with the health workforce to find ways of gaining better health outcomes for populations
- Working with communities to enable them to address determinants of their health and develop
resources and strategies of empowerment and public policy to improve their health and
wellbeing.

- Post graduate health research relevant degree

**The following skills and experience will be beneficial, although there will be support provided by other staff to develop skillsets as required**:

- Understanding of equity issues faced by Māori
- Ability to communicate confidently and comfortably with older people, families and support staff
- Ability to develop relationships with external public and private organisations and charities
- Experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research (data collection and analysis)
- Willingness to work beyond disciplinary boundaries
- Imaginative and able to envisage different ways of working (including using art-based research methods)
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Proficient with MS Office

We are looking for an excellent communicator with research experience, preferably in Research with older people, Māori kaumātua and /or aged care.
