Are you a talented OT leader, or an OT wanting to develop your skills in leadership? We have an exciting opportunity for someone to step into the Team Leader role for Occupational Therapy. Based at Wellington Regional Hospital, this role provides day to day leadership and management to the team of Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants who provide services across the acute wards at Wellington Regional Hospital.

**The focus of the role is to**:

- Ensure services are organised and delivered in a way that makes the best use of the resources we have
- Provide clinical leadership that supports safe and effective patient care across the MDT team
- Motivate and inspire others to perform to their best
- Identify, lead and support quality improvement activities in line with the Allied Health Strategy that achieve improved health outcomes and an improved experience for individuals, their families and wider communities in the district.You will also work in collaboration with the Occupational Therapy Professional Leader on issues including workforce development and service improvements.

This is a full time role which includes a clinical component. This clinical work will be in the acute inpatient setting, with the exact clinical area dependent on the skills of the successful applicant and the needs of the team.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
The Occupational Therapy team based at Wellington Hospital is a mix of new graduate to experienced clinician Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants. This includes a group of five new graduates who undertake rotations across Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals and in the AWHI Early Supported Discharge team. The Allied Health Assistants work across the inpatient setting and the community performing delegated roles for a variety of professions so understanding the clinical demands of the teams, the areas they work across and being able to assist with development and management of this workforce is crucial.
You will be part of a team of 12 Allied Health Team Leaders in our multidisciplinary ORA (Older Adults, Rehabilitation and Allied Health) service, so there is a wealth of collegial support available to you.
Moū - About you
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with a current APC who has a passion for leadership and clinical excellence and is keen to grow your leadership skills potential through managing a team in a fast-paced inpatient setting. You will also be passionate about Occupational Therapy and challenging the status quo to improve equity of outcomes for our clients. You will be someone who can think innovatively and lead people through change - with the current Health Reforms and move to Te Whatu Ora, this will be an exciting time to be part of the team
