**The Company**

My client is a privately held NZ business that has been in business for over 70 years. The business has operations in multiple jurisdictions across the world. This company has the licensing rights to a significant brand and is well regarded in their niche space. The company has over 450 staff in NZ, 300+ in Australia and is now looking for a payroll officer based in Mangere, Auckland.

**The Role**

The role of Payroll officer will report to the Payroll Manager and be part of close knit finance team. The role includes:

- Processing weekly, monthly and ad hoc pay runs for both salaried and hourly rate paid staff
- Ensure timesheets for hourly staff have been confirmed in the systems
- Prepare relevant tax filing papers and payments thereon
- Ensure employee records are correct & up to date, updating for new starters and leaver as required
- Complete year end payroll system reconciliations and any software updates
- Prepare bonus and profit share payments
- Arrange disbursements of deductions
- Provide ad hoc information to third parties as required
- Work with the finance team, HR team and any other internal team members on process improvement as required

**Your profile**:
We are looking for an individual who ideally has payglobal payroll experience. You do not need to have Australian payroll experience - this can be learned on the job however we are looking for someone who is capable of taking ownership of the NZ function.

Ideally you will have the following experience and attributes:

- Payglobal experience
- Have experience working with collective agreements
- Have worked with timesheet payrolls previously
- Proactive and willing to learn
- An ability to take ownership and work relatively unsupervised so the manager can drive value add to the business.
- Experience working with a similar size payroll (circa 700)
- End to end payroll experience
- Working knowledge of Holidays Act NZ
