About the role
The New Zealand Police Intelligence function has a unique role to play in providing insight and foresight to enhance and support decision making capability at all levels of Police. If you are looking to take on a challenging and rewarding role at the leading edge of Police Intelligence, developing, and enabling Police Intelligence practitioners to deliver Our Business, while enhancing your own knowledge, skills and experience, then this role is for you.

As an Intelligence Training Advisor, you will contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of the Intelligence Training Programme to enable NZP Intelligence Practitioners, deliver Our Business. You will champion continuous improvement, ensuring an evidence-based approach to the design of a learner-centric and innovative (blended learning), training programme.

We are looking for people leaders who can work with the wider Intelligence Training team and are committed and focused on developing capable, connected Intelligence Practitioners equipped with the skills and knowledge to enhance operational efficiency and increase decision making capability.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Development and delivery of Intelligence training,
- Leading the Commissioners Priorities - Be First, Then Do - Delivering the Police service New Zealanders expect and deserve and focused prevention through partnerships, with an intelligence perspective,
- Manaakitanga, building transparent relationships and enduring partnerships, through a collaborative culture.

- Ability to communicate, build relationships and collaborate across the business,
- Critical decision making and the ability to recognise and manage risk in a dynamic environment.

This role is set at Team Leader level, this means your key purpose is “to deliver or enable others to deliver Our Business.”
We will ask you questions based on “How we will deliver Our Business - Core Competencies” and the appropriate role level, i.e. Team Leader.

Special Requirements
- Applicants with a background and qualification in adult learning and training design, development and delivery are preferred but this is not an essential special requirement. For applicants without a suitable qualification in this field, you will successfully complete the Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Training within 6 months of being appointed,
- Current CPK; or successfully pass the sergeants CPK within 6 months of being appointed as the successful applicant - Office of Constable Only,
- Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
