**Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

Our Water team works across water, wastewater, and stormwater, as well as surface waters and irrigation, partnering with clients spanning the municipal, industrial, transportation, commercial, mining, and agricultural sectors. We’re excited about the opportunities ahead of us and are well placed to help New Zealand advance and protect our world for our future generations. Every day will look a little different, however overall, you will be responsible for:

- Delivering projects on time and to budget, while meeting clients’ needs and expectations
- Producing engineering designs, reports, proposals, and specifications.
- Seeking continuous improvement in the design process, including the use of new technology
- Be able to collaboratively undertake conceptual designs through to detailed design, contract procurement and construction administration with a team

To be part of our motivated and trusted Southern Water team of engineers, scientists, project managers, modelers, and designers, we’re looking for a Civil Engineer to join us in our Christchurch office. We’re looking for a highly motivated individual who is dedicated to developing and sharing technical innovation to push boundaries and continually challenge and overcome conventions and constraints to make the everyday better.

Aligned with the level of the role, we envision that the base salary component will be between NZD$70,000 - NZD$100,000 depending on skills and experience. The role is full time and permanent, with minimum guaranteed hours of 40 hours a week.

You will have at least four years of relevant work experience. This experience will be across technical, delivery and client-facing activities and you will have the natural ability to build wide and effective networks of contacts inside and outside of the organization, ultimately leading to continuing work and repeat business.
