**The Organisation**

Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.

**The Opportunity**

We are seeking a highly motivated, efficient and enthusiastic person to join the team working as a Telephonist at the Palmerston North Hospital. This permanent role is eight hours (0.2) a week plus casual up to 40 hours a week to cover rostered shifts for annual and sick leave (morning, afternoon and possible night duties).

The Telephony office hours are 24 hours per day 7 days per week so you must be available to work rostered duties including weekends.

We are looking for people who once trained can work as part of a team but also be able to work on their own outside normal working hours.

The successful applicants will need to have a strong customer service background with excellent communication skills and a professional and pleasant telephone manner.
